Veterans Day
StreetShares was founded by military veterans, lends predominantly to veteran-owned small businesses, and has a sizable population of veteran employees. I had the idea to sit down with the veterans of StreetShares for video interviews which would be then published on social media in the days leading up to the holiday. As a financial services company, I wanted to take this opportunity to humanize our brand- show that only are we not just another faceless bank, we were founded by and are run by veterans just like you (our prospective customer).
I wrote the interview questions, organized the shoot, and filmed the interviews myself with the help of my director and his second iPhone. For editing, I identified and interviewed several video producers on Upwork and sent the footage along with a word-by-word script/storyboard to the artist that I decided to hire.
Unfortunately, the videographer ended up falling through while only partially done with the editing process. I took her working files and pulled two marathon days to finish editing the videos into the final pieces seen here today.
These were published on social media, YouTube, the StreetShares blog, and in our weekly content newsletter (also produced by me). The distribution was purely organic, with no paid media or ads behind the content at all. In total, the videos saw 367 engagements, 3,500 views, and 21 shares.
